Partners in Progress - Parco and Hesse

Nestled among the Appalachian Mountains, an hour east of Montreal, is the plant of Parco-Hesse, the Canadian leader in the beverage truck industry. The Canadian chartered company and partner of Hesse Corp. manufactures and markets Hesse aluminum truck bodies and trailers in Canada in record numbers with a 70 percent market share in 1985.

A licensing agreement between Parco Truck Body and Hesse Corp. in 1981 successfully culminated in a partnership between the two in 1982. Prior to the licensing agreement, Parco produced steel body beverage trucks custom-fabricated by skilled craftsmen. Now, the company utilizes a production line, automated systems and production departments with functions paralleling those in the other two Hesse plants.

Partnership Nets Advantages For Canadian Customers

The joint relationship has been beneficial for Canadian distributors and bottlers. Parco -Hesse introduced the first all-aluminum beverage transport vehicles in Canada.

Also, because the two partners purchase materials as one company, the high-quality Hesse bodies and trailers are available in both the U.S. and Canada at cost-effective prices.

Experienced Management

Approximately 100 other employees work at the Granby, Quebec plant and offices. A fully staffed engineering group collaborates with Hesse U.S.A. engineers on research and development but is solely responsible for the implementation of Hesse designs at the Parco-Hesse plant.

Same Hesse Quality - Canadian Style

Parco-Hesse builds both American and Canadian trailers and bodies because the company handles Hesse's distribution in Northeastern U.S.A. The American market comprises about 15 percent of Parco-Hesse's sales.
